The Finer Edit was founded by Lara S, who brings together a career in business, brand building, beauty, marketing, events and hospitality with a long-standing and somewhat unconditional love of food, travel and well-made things.
Her eye for places was shaped early. A childhood in France gave her châteaux before she was old enough to fully appreciate a good staircase, summers touched by the Mediterranean and winters among the Alps. It left a lasting interest in architecture, atmosphere, the table and the quiet details that make a place stay with you long after you have left it.
That formation shapes how the magazine sees things. Visual enough to care about the room. Practical enough to care about the booking process. And curious enough to keep asking whether the experience actually matches the promise — which, it turns out, is not always a given.
As Editor-in-Chief, Lara guides the edit with taste, warmth and honest judgement: sharing the places worth knowing, the details worth noticing, and the occasional gentle reminder that a beautiful room and a genuinely good experience are not always the same thing.
